Upon registering for an account, there will be a 30-day trial period provided at no cost. Read the Terms of the Trial Period here. During that period a Clinical Studio account executive, or representative of Crucial Life Sciences Data Solutions, Inc. (CLSDS), will make contact to discuss the customer’s needs and best license option for continued use beyond the trial period. A final License Agreement will be sent to and signed by the customer prior to payment being set up. The payment period in the agreement (monthly, quarterly, or annually) will begin the day after the trial period ends.
Below are detailed terms of each of the license types available.
- Free 30-day Trial
- Medical Coding
1. Free 30-day Trial
Users will have 30 calendar days, beginning on the date of registration, to evaluate the software and utilize Clinical Studio’s training resources at no extra cost. Registration at http://www.clinicalstudio.com/registration-signup/creates a unique Website Host (account) in Clinical Studio. The person registering is given full permissions and ownership of the newly created account. The account owner can be identified or changed via the Account Manager page after logging in.
For uninterrupted use after the trial period, a License Agreement must be signed prior to completion of the trial period. The License Agreement will be provided by an account executive during the trial period, which states the customer’s preferred billing cycle and agreed License cost.
Clinical Studio is available at no cost to academic studies. Academic licenses are governed by the following rules:
- The study is for non-commercial gain and managed entirely by and within an academic institution.
- The study sponsor is not an external entity to the institution managing the trial.
- The account contains a single production/live study being conducted at no more than one site, with no more than 5 users.
- Each account and its studies have no association or ties to commercial entities or external funding.
- Extended functions of the system are not being used. This includes Inventory tracking, ePRO, randomization, lab range management, and payment tracking.
- Verification of the underlying study has been made by a representative of CLSDS.
Academic verification will be noted in the license agreement signed by the account owner prior to the license being enabled. Training and support on academic licenses is limited to 2 hours of initial training, and basic technical support. Discounted plans are available for academic use requiring extra support or extended system functions.
A development license is available for any non-academic entity that needs continued use of the software for learning or development. The published cost associated with this license will cover an entire account, regardless of the number of studies existing under that account.
Accounts with this license contain no current live studies. In most cases, account owners must purchase this option after the trial period for continued use. The only exceptions are for academic entities and commercial entities that are purchasing a commercial license (see definition below) immediately after the 30-day trial.
Pre-clinical studies can be built and conducted on Clinical Studio for a more competitive cost than phase trials. These studies must be verified as pre-clinical via the study protocol by a representative of CLSDS. This verification will be noted in the license agreement prior to setting up payment.
The cost associated with this license is published as per month per study. Discounts may apply for multi-study accounts or annual contracts. A 4% discount applies for payments made via ACH or wire.
Commercial studies make up most of clinical trials. These include all phase studies being conducted or funded by a commercial entity.
The cost associated with the Commercial license is published as per study per month. Discounts may apply for multi-study accounts or annual contracts. A 4% discount applies for payments made via ACH or wire.
